The short answer
HeyGen costs $29 a month on Creator ($24 billed yearly), from $49 a month on Pro, and $149 a month on Business plus $20 for each additional seat. There is a watermarked $0 plan capped at 3 one minute videos. Every paid plan is a pool of credits, and the avatar model you pick sets the burn rate: 600 Creator credits buy about 150 minutes of Avatar III but only 19 minutes of Avatar IV Video Look.

Five tiers. The jump that matters for most buyers is Creator to Pro, because it is where 4K export and a bigger credit pool arrive for $20 more a month.

HeyGen also sells extra Premium Credit packs of 300 credits for $15 a month, or $150 a year on annual billing. The developer API is billed separately from these studio plans.

This is the table the pricing page does not show you. Credit rates come from HeyGen's own help article. Minutes are rounded down, because you cannot export a fraction of a video.

Where the HeyGen bill ends up higher than the plan price
The $29 headline is honest, but it buys a pool of credits rather than a number of videos, and the pool drains at wildly different speeds. A sales team recording weekly 3 minute updates on Avatar IV Video Look spends 93 credits per video. Four of those a month is 372 credits, which fits inside Creator. Switch the same videos to Avatar V and it is 576 credits, right at the ceiling, with nothing left over for a re-render.
Re-renders are the quiet cost. A mispronounced product name or a wrong slide means generating the whole video again, and HeyGen charges credits for each generation. Budget at least one redo for every three videos if your scripts go through review.
Seats are the loud one. Creator and Pro are single seat plans. The moment a second person needs to log in you are on Business, which is $149 plus $20 per additional seat and roughly doubles your cost per credit.
Costs to add before you pick a plan
- Extra seats on Business: $20 each a month, so five people cost $229 before credits.
- Top-up credit packs: 300 credits for $15, which is 5 cents a credit and slightly above the Creator rate.
- Expiring credits on monthly billing: unused credits survive one extra cycle, then they are gone.
- Premium models: Avatar V and Video Agent run 40 to 48 credits a minute, ten times Avatar III.
- SCORM and LMS delivery: only on Business and Enterprise, so training teams skip Creator and Pro entirely.

Creator, $29
One person, a few avatar videos a month
A founder, consultant or solo marketer publishing two to six short presenter videos a month. Stay on Avatar III or Avatar IV Photo Look and 600 credits goes a long way. Pay annually if you already know you will use it all year, since yearly credits accumulate instead of expiring.
Pro, from $49
Volume, 4K, or the newest avatars
Pick Pro when you publish weekly on Avatar IV Video Look or Avatar V, need 4K masters for paid placements, or translate videos into several languages. The extra 400 credits cost $20, about 5 cents each, the same rate as a top-up pack, and the upgrade brings 4K export with it.
Business, $149 plus seats
Shared workspace, SSO, training delivery
For L&D and enablement teams that need SCORM files in an LMS, single sign-on for IT, and more than one editor. You buy Business for those controls. If nobody on the team needs them, two Pro seats bought separately give you more credits for less money.

HeyGen has a $0 Free plan, Creator at $29 a month or $24 a month billed yearly, Pro from $49 a month with 1,000 credits, and Business at $149 a month plus $20 for each extra seat. Enterprise is quoted by sales. What you actually spend depends on how many credits your avatar and video features burn.
How many minutes do you get with the HeyGen Creator plan?
It depends on the avatar model. Creator includes 600 credits a month. At HeyGen's published rates that is about 150 minutes of Avatar III Video Look, 37 minutes of Avatar IV Photo Look, 19 minutes of Avatar IV Video Look or 12 minutes of Avatar V. Individual videos can run up to 30 minutes.
Is HeyGen free to use?
There is a $0 plan, but it is a trial in practice. It allows 3 videos a month, each up to 1 minute, with a HeyGen watermark, one seat and one custom avatar. Removing the watermark, cloning a voice or making anything longer starts at the $29 Creator plan.
How do HeyGen credits work?
Each paid plan includes a monthly credit pool, and every feature spends credits at its own rate. Avatar III Video Look costs 4 credits a minute, Avatar IV Video Look 31, Avatar V 48, and a Veo 3 generation 90 credits per video. Monthly credits roll over for one extra billing cycle.
What is the difference between HeyGen Creator and Pro?
Pro starts at $49 a month instead of $29 and includes 1,000 credits instead of 600, with higher credit tiers available. Pro also raises export quality from 1080p to 4K and adds advanced models and translation script editing. Both are single seat plans with a 30 minute video length limit.
How much does HeyGen cost for a team?
The Business plan is $149 a month with 1,500 credits and charges $20 a month for each additional seat, so a five person team pays about $229 a month before any extra credit packs. Business adds SSO, SCORM export, LMS integrations and 60 minute videos. Larger teams move to Enterprise pricing.
Do HeyGen credits roll over?
Partly. On monthly billing, unused plan credits carry into the next billing cycle and expire after that, so the longest a credit lasts is about 60 days. On annual billing, credits accumulate across the year until renewal. Credits are forfeited if you cancel.
Is HeyGen worth the money?
It is if your videos need a presenter on camera, translated lip sync, or SCORM files for training. Those are HeyGen's strengths. It is a weaker buy when most of what you need is scene footage with no person in it, because that spend comes out of the same credit pool at 90 credits per Veo 3 video.
