The short answer

Kapwing costs $16 per member a month on Pro and $50 on Business when billed yearly, which is $192 and $600 a year. Month to month the same plans are $24 and $64. Pro includes 1,000 AI credits a month and 4K export; Business includes 4,000 credits, custom voice clones and credit top ups. A team of three pays $576 a year on Pro.

Prices, allowances and terms were read from kapwing.com/pricing and Kapwing's help center (credits and subscription FAQ) in October 2026. All prices are in US dollars. Kapwing does not refund paid plans and offers no trial of them, so the plan choice below is worth getting right before the card goes in.

Kapwing plans and prices in US dollars

Two paid plans, a free plan and Enterprise. Paid prices are per member of the workspace. Yearly billing saves 33 percent on Pro and 22 percent on Business against paying monthly.

Plan Yearly billing Monthly billing Credits Export Storage
Free $0 $0 10, given once 720p, watermark, 4 min, 30 min a month 5 GB, kept 3 days
Pro $16 a month ($192 a year) $24 1,000 a month 4K, no watermark, up to 2 hours 200 GB
Business $50 a month ($600 a year) $64 4,000 a month, packs of 500 for $50 4K, no watermark, up to 2 hours 800 GB
Enterprise Quote Quote Custom 4K Custom

Uploads are capped at 2 GB per file on Free and 6 GB on paid plans. Business adds custom voice clones and credit packs. Enterprise adds SAML single sign on, invoice and wire payment, a dedicated account manager and onboarding training. Kapwing lists the monthly credits per plan, not per member, so do not assume extra seats add credits.

What a Kapwing team pays a year for 1 to 10 members

Every person who edits in the workspace is a paid member, so the bill scales with headcount. Monthly totals below are 12 monthly payments.

Members Pro yearly Pro monthly Business yearly Business monthly
1 $192 $288 $600 $768
3 $576 $864 $1,800 $2,304
5 $960 $1,440 $3,000 $3,840
10 $1,920 $2,880 $6,000 $7,680

Kapwing's own example for 3 members matches: $72 a month on Pro monthly, $576 a year on Pro yearly, $192 a month on Business monthly and $1,800 a year on Business yearly. Five people on Business yearly cost $3,000, the same as Descript Business for five editors.

What Kapwing credits buy on Pro and Business

Editing tools such as Smart Cut, background removal, stabilization and chroma key use no credits. The AI tools draw from one monthly pool at these rates, from Kapwing's credits help article.

AI tool Credit rate Whole Pro month (1,000) Whole Business month (4,000)
Subtitle transcription 1 per minute 1,000 minutes 4,000 minutes
Subtitle translation 2 per minute 500 minutes 2,000 minutes
Dubbing 10 per 30 seconds 50 minutes 200 minutes
Lip sync 30 per minute About 33 minutes About 133 minutes
Text to speech 1 per 100 characters About 100,000 characters About 400,000 characters
Clean Audio 2 per minute 500 minutes 2,000 minutes
AI video generation 20 or more per clip Up to about 50 clips Up to about 200 clips

Nothing rolls over

Unused credits disappear at the refresh on the 1st of each month. A team that edits in bursts pays for quiet months it cannot bank.

Only Business can top up

Extra credits come in packs of 500 for $50 and only on Business. A Pro workspace that runs dry waits for the 1st or upgrades.

AI clips cost more than the floor

Generation starts at 20 credits and rises with length, resolution and model, and a clip that renders but misses the brief is not refunded.

Which Kapwing plan to buy

Solo marketer or creator

Pro, monthly first

One seat at $24 lets you check that the browser editor and 1,000 credits fit your month. Move to yearly ($192) once it does, because moving back from yearly to monthly means cancelling and waiting out the term.

Social or content team of 2 to 5

Pro yearly

Shared workspace, brand kit, real time editing and 4K for $192 per person. Three editors pay $576 a year. Watch the shared 1,000 credits if everyone subtitles and dubs.

Team that dubs and localizes

Business

Translation at scale is where Business earns its price: 200 minutes of dubbing, about 130 minutes of lip sync, voice clones and credit packs when a campaign runs over.

Kapwing pricing next to other editors and a clip generator

One seat for a year, from each vendor's pricing page. Kapwing is the cheapest of the editors here.

Tool and plan One seat a year Best for
Kapwing Pro $192 Browser editing, subtitles, resizing and repurposing as a team
VEED Pro $265 Browser editing with brand kits and translation
Descript Creator $288 Editing talking video and podcasts by transcript
VideoMake Plus $288 ($24 a month), or $49 monthly Rendering new 4 to 12 second shots and short presenter lines

The honest trade: if your team has footage and needs it cut, captioned and resized, Kapwing Pro is the better and cheaper purchase, and we would buy it too. VideoMake is the other half. It renders original clips from a prompt or a still image at 1 credit per second of 720p, and lip synced AI presenter clips for a one line hook, then hands you an MP4 to edit wherever you like. Its Studio captions and joins short clips, but it is no substitute for a two hour editor. If you are leaving Kapwing rather than adding to it, our Kapwing alternative comparison covers the replacements.

Questions people ask about Kapwing pricing

How much does Kapwing cost?

Kapwing Pro costs $16 per member a month billed yearly ($192 a year) or $24 billed monthly. Business costs $50 per member a month billed yearly ($600 a year) or $64 monthly. Enterprise is quoted by sales. The free plan exports 720p video with a Kapwing watermark and caps each export at 4 minutes.

Is Kapwing free to use?

Kapwing has a free plan, but it is built for trying the editor rather than publishing. Exports carry a watermark, stop at 720p and 4 minutes, total 30 minutes a month, and projects are stored for only 3 days. The 10 credits are given once, not every month. Removing the watermark takes Pro, at $16 a member a month on yearly billing.

What is the difference between Kapwing Pro and Business?

Business costs $34 more per member a month on yearly billing and raises the credit allowance from 1,000 to 4,000 a month, storage from 200 GB to 800 GB, auto subtitling from 1,000 to 4,000 minutes and dubbing from 50 to 200 minutes. Business also adds custom voice clones, more lip sync minutes and the option to buy extra credits at $50 per 500.

How do Kapwing credits work?

Credits pay for the AI tools. Subtitle transcription costs 1 credit a minute, subtitle translation 2 a minute, dubbing 10 per 30 seconds, lip sync 30 a minute, text to speech 1 per 100 characters and AI video generation 20 or more per clip. Every tool charges at least 1 credit. Unused credits do not roll over and reset on the 1st of each month.

Does Kapwing offer refunds?

No. Kapwing's pricing FAQ says it does not issue refunds once you upgrade to Pro or Business, because a free version exists to test first, and there is no free trial of the paid plans. Failed AI jobs get their credits back automatically, but a generation that worked and simply did not look right is not refunded.

Is Kapwing worth it for a business?

Kapwing is worth it for marketing and social teams that edit, subtitle, resize and repurpose video in the browser and work on projects together. Pro at $192 per member a year is cheaper than VEED Pro or Descript Creator. It is a weaker buy if what your videos lack is footage, because an editor needs clips to edit and its AI generation is a credit add on, not its core.

Can I switch Kapwing from yearly to monthly billing?

Not directly. Kapwing lets you move up at any time, from monthly to yearly or from Pro to Business, but going from yearly to monthly or from Business to Pro requires cancelling and waiting for the billing period to end before you subscribe again. Since paid fees are not refunded, start on monthly if you are unsure.
