Opus Clip Pricing and OpusClip Credits per Plan
What OpusClip Free, Starter, Pro and Business cost in US dollars, how 1 credit per input minute decides the plan you need, rollover rules, packs and seats, and how it compares with Descript and VEED.
Opus Clip pricing starts at $15 a month for Starter, which is sold on monthly billing only and includes 150 credits a month. Pro costs $29 a month, or $14.50 a month billed yearly ($174 a year), and includes 300 credits a month and a team workspace with 2 seats. Business is quoted by sales. One credit processes one minute of the original video you import, so the plan you need depends on how many hours of long form footage you feed it, not on how many clips you keep.
The prices below were read from opus.pro/pricing in October 2026, and the credit rules from OpusClip's own help center. Prices are in US dollars before tax. OpusClip says yearly billing saves up to 50 percent, and on Pro the math is exact: $174 a year against $348 paying month to month.
Opus Clip plans and prices at a glance
| Plan | Monthly billing | Yearly billing | Credits | Seats | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 60 a month | 1 | AI clipping and captions, watermark on exports, clips expire after 3 days |
| Starter | $15 | Not offered | 150 a month | 1 | Watermark free export, editor, filler and silence removal, auto posting to YouTube Shorts, TikTok and Instagram Reels, 1 brand template |
| Pro | $29 per pack | $14.50 a month per pack ($174 a year) | 300 a month per pack | 2 per pack | AI B-roll, 16:9, 1:1 and 9:16, XML export to Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, social scheduler, 2 brand templates, 6 social accounts, 100 GB storage, API access |
| Business | Quote | Quote | Custom | Teams over 10 | Custom credits, API and CMS integration, dedicated storage, priority support |
Pro is sold in packs. On the pricing page you can stack from 1 to 15 packs before OpusClip asks you to contact sales, and each pack adds another 300 credits a month. The help center says seats come 2 to a pack and cannot be bought separately, so a team that needs a third or fourth seat buys a second pack and pays for its credits too.
How Opus Clip credits work
OpusClip charges 1 credit per minute of the original video imported. A 30 minute webinar uses 30 credits whether it produces 3 clips or 30. Videos shorter than a minute round up to 1 credit, and partial minutes round down, so a 4.5 minute video costs 4. You can trim what gets processed with the Processing timeframe slider, which is the simplest way to stop paying for a 10 minute intro you never clip.
A few other charges sit outside processing. Each post or scheduled post to X costs 3 credits per clip per X account, and failed or deleted scheduled posts are refunded automatically. Agent Opus, the generative side of the product, draws from the same paid balance at 1 credit per second of Standard quality output, 3 per second for Standard+, 7 for Premium and 12 for Ultra, so a single one minute generated video at Premium quality costs 420 credits, more than a month of Pro.
Do Opus Clip credits roll over?
Partly. Monthly plan credits expire 60 days after they arrive, so unused credits carry over for one extra month. On yearly plans, credits still arrive monthly and unused ones roll over for 2 months. Top up credits, sold on Pro and above, last 12 months from purchase. If you cancel, remaining credits keep their original expiry date rather than vanishing on the cancel date.
How many credits does your show need?
Because billing follows input minutes, the useful number is how much raw footage you import each month. A weekly 60 minute podcast imported in full uses about 240 to 260 credits a month, which fits inside one Pro pack and overflows Starter by roughly 100 credits. Here is the same math for common workloads.
| Workload | Minutes imported a month | Plan that covers it | Cost a year |
|---|---|---|---|
| Weekly 30 minute podcast | about 130 | Starter | $180 |
| Weekly 60 minute podcast | about 260 | Pro, 1 pack, yearly | $174 |
| Two 60 minute webinars a week | about 520 | Pro, 2 packs, yearly | $348 |
| Daily 60 minute livestream | about 1,800 | Pro, 6 packs, yearly | $1,044 |
Two things stand out. First, Pro yearly at $174 is cheaper than Starter paid monthly for a year ($180) while giving twice the credits, 2 seats and the scheduler, so Starter only makes sense if you refuse an annual commitment. Second, the cost scales almost linearly with raw hours, so the best saving for a heavy user is trimming dead air before import, not chasing a bigger plan.
Which Opus Clip plan should you buy?
Solo creator testing short form
Start on Starter at $15 for a month. It removes the watermark, adds the editor and auto posting, and 150 credits cover two or three long episodes a month. If the clips earn views, switch to Pro yearly before your second renewal, because the year costs less than twelve Starter months.
Podcast or YouTube channel with an editor
Pro yearly with one pack. The 2 seats let a host and an editor share a workspace, XML export hands the rough cuts to Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve for finishing, and the scheduler posts a month of clips in one sitting. If the long form edit itself happens in a transcript editor, our Descript pricing per editor guide covers what that seat costs alongside OpusClip.
Marketing team clipping webinars and customer calls
Pro with 2 or more packs, or a Business quote once you pass 10 seats or need CMS integration. Teams that already pay for a browser editor with subtitles and brand kits can compare VEED pricing per seat, since VEED also clips long videos and some teams find one tool is enough.
What Opus Clip does not do
OpusClip is a repurposing tool. It finds the strongest moments in footage you already recorded, reframes them to 9:16, captions them and posts them. It cannot give you a shot you never filmed: the product in use, an establishing scene, a hook visual for the first two seconds. Its AI B-roll on Pro inserts stock and generated images and short generated clips over your talking head, which helps on a podcast clip but is not built for a polished product scene.
That gap is where a dedicated clip generator earns its place. With an AI b-roll generator you describe the shot or upload a product photo, choose 9:16 or 16:9 and 4, 8 or 12 seconds, and download an original clip with commercial rights to cut into the short. It is priced per second of finished footage rather than per minute of input, so it costs far more per minute than OpusClip clipping and is the right purchase only for the few seconds a clip cannot do without. Channels that publish natively vertical content can also see what we render for YouTube Shorts.
Creators who also earn from the tools they recommend in those clips often send viewers to a creator storefront that lists the gear and software you use, which turns a pinned comment into a single link instead of a dozen affiliate URLs.

Questions people ask about Opus Clip pricing
How much does Opus Clip cost?
Opus Clip costs $15 a month on Starter, billed monthly only, and $29 a month on Pro, or $14.50 a month when Pro is billed yearly at $174. Starter includes 150 credits a month and Pro 300 credits per pack. There is a free plan with 60 credits a month and watermarked exports, and Business pricing is quoted by sales.
Is Opus Clip free?
OpusClip has a free plan with 60 credits a month, enough to process one hour of video. Free exports carry a watermark, editing is limited and clips can only be exported for 3 days. Starter and Pro both offer a free trial with no credit card required, which is the better way to judge clip quality on your own footage.
How many credits does Opus Clip use per video?
OpusClip uses 1 credit per minute of the original video you import, regardless of how many clips it produces. A 45 minute interview costs 45 credits. Videos under a minute cost 1 credit and partial minutes round down. Posting to X costs an extra 3 credits per clip per account.
Is Opus Clip Pro worth it?
Pro is worth it once you import more than about 150 minutes a month or need a second seat, XML export, the scheduler or AI B-roll. Billed yearly it costs $174, which is less than twelve months of Starter at $180, so anyone who expects to keep clipping for a year gets more for less on Pro.
Can I cancel Opus Clip anytime?
Yes. You can cancel or pause from the subscription page, and paid features run until the end of the period you already paid for. Credits you hold keep their original expiry date after you cancel, and top up credits are locked while unsubscribed and restored if you subscribe again within their 12 month life.
