Zight costs $0 on the Share plan, $9.95 per user per month on Create billed yearly ($119.40 a year, or $12.95 month to month), and $12 per user per month on Collaborate billed yearly ($144 a year, or $15 monthly), with a two seat minimum on Collaborate. Scale, the plan for organizations of 10 or more, is quoted by sales. For most teams the real decision is Create against Collaborate: the AI limits, Video Requests and branding are what you pay the extra $2.05 a seat for.

The numbers below were read from zight.com/pricing in October 2026, in US dollars per user before tax. Zight, the screen recorder formerly called CloudApp, says yearly billing saves 20 percent, and the math holds: $9.95 against $12.95 and $12 against $15 are both about 20 to 23 percent off.

How much does Zight cost a year for a team?

One Create seat costs $119.40 a year on yearly billing and $155.40 if you pay $12.95 a month for twelve months. Teams almost always land on Collaborate, because that is where shared workspaces, branding and unlimited AI start, and it cannot be bought for fewer than two people.

UsersCollaborate yearlyCollaborate monthly, 12 monthsSaving with yearly
2$288$360$72
5$720$900$180
10$1,440$1,800$360
25$3,600$4,500$900
50$7,200$9,000$1,800

Collaborate tops out at 100 users. Above that, or as soon as IT asks for SCIM provisioning or a HIPAA agreement, the conversation moves to a Scale quote. Zight publishes no Scale price. Vendr and SpendHound report contract data that puts typical yearly spend in the low thousands for small businesses and above $10,000 for larger buyers, but those are averages of negotiated deals, not a price list.

Is Zight cheaper than Loom?

Yes, at list price. Zight Collaborate costs $12 per user per month on yearly billing, while Loom's Business plan lists at $18 per user monthly and about $15 billed yearly, with Business + AI at $24 monthly. For a 10 person team on yearly billing that is $1,440 for Zight against roughly $1,800 for Loom Business and about $2,400 for Loom Business + AI. Zight also includes unlimited AI actions on Collaborate, which Loom sells as a separate tier.

Loom still wins on two points. Its viewer base is huge, so prospects and customers often recognize the player, and its Atlassian ties matter if your team lives in Jira and Confluence. If neither applies, Zight is the cheaper per seat buy for the same core job.

ScreenPal is the cheapest of the group per seat, and our ScreenPal pricing breakdown shows why its team plan beats the solo plan from three users. For one off training videos with heavier editing, a desktop tool like Snagit or Camtasia may fit better, see Snagit pricing per seat.

Which Zight plan should you buy?

One person documenting a product or process

Create at $119.40 a year is enough. You get unlimited recording length, 4K and transcripts, and five AI summaries or chapters a month is plenty for someone recording a few walkthroughs a week. The free Share plan is not a real option for paid work because of the 5 minute and 720p limits.

A support, success or sales team of 2 to 100

Collaborate. The two things teams use daily are the shared workspace and Video Requests, which let a customer record their screen and send it back through a link without installing anything or creating an account. Fifty requests a month covers a small support queue. For a five person support team the bill is $720 a year.

Regulated or large organizations

Scale. If you handle patient data you need the HIPAA business associate agreement, and if IT manages accounts through Okta or Azure you need SCIM. Both are Scale only, so do not buy 30 Collaborate seats and plan to upgrade later; ask for the Scale quote first and compare.

What does Zight charge for that is easy to miss?

Three things change the bill after the first invoice. First, the two seat minimum on Collaborate means a solo buyer who wants branding pays $288, not $144. Second, premium integrations such as Zendesk and Intercom are add-ons below Scale, so the Collaborate price is not the full cost for a support team that works inside a help desk. Third, monthly billing costs 20 to 23 percent more, which on 25 seats is $900 a year.

Video Requests are another place to plan ahead. Share gets 5 a month, Create 10 and Collaborate 50, and requests are what customers use to send you a recording of their bug. A busy support team that already routes every ticket through task assignment software that sends each ticket to the right agent should count how many tickets a month would include a customer recording before settling on 50.

Can Zight make the onboarding or product video itself?

Partly. Zight records your screen, camera and voice, then adds captions, titles, summaries and step by step guides with AI. That covers walkthroughs, bug reports and quick answers. It does not render footage you never filmed: the customer using your product on a job site, a warehouse at dawn, the establishing shot at the start of an onboarding video.

That gap is where a generator fits. VideoMake's AI video generator renders original 4, 8 or 12 second clips from a text prompt or a still image, in 16:9 or 9:16, at 1 credit per second of 720p video. Teams record the walkthrough in Zight and drop a generated scene in front of it so the video opens on the customer's world instead of a desktop. Plans start at $49 a month, or $24 a month billed yearly.

Frequently asked questions about Zight pricing

How much does Zight cost per month?

Zight Create costs $12.95 per user per month on monthly billing, or $9.95 a month billed yearly. Collaborate costs $15 per user per month, or $12 billed yearly, with a two user minimum. The free Share plan costs nothing but limits recordings to 5 minutes at 720p. Scale is quoted by sales.

Is Zight free?

Zight has a free plan called Share. It allows 5 minute recordings at up to 720p, 1 GB of storage, 15 second GIFs and 5 Video Requests a month. Anyone can watch a shared Zight link without an account, so viewers never need a paid seat. Unlimited recording time and 4K start on Create at $9.95 a month billed yearly.

Does Zight have a free trial?

Zight does not advertise a self serve trial of its paid plans. Its pricing FAQ suggests starting on the free Share plan and upgrading later, keeping all recordings, or talking to sales about a trial for your team. Teachers, students with a school email and qualifying non-profits can ask sales about free or discounted plans.

Is Zight the same as CloudApp?

Yes. CloudApp renamed itself Zight in 2023 and kept the same product: screen recording, screenshots with annotation and GIF capture. Old CloudApp prices you may still find on review sites, such as a $9.95 Pro plan or an $8 Team plan, refer to the older plan names. The current plans are Share, Create, Collaborate and Scale.
