The short answer

Tella costs $156 per user a year on Pro and $228 per user a year on Premium when billed yearly. Monthly billing doubles that: $26 and $39 per user a month. There is no free plan, only a 7 day Pro trial, and every paid seat gets unlimited videos. Enterprise adds SSO, SCIM and volume discounts on a quote.

Prices read from Tella's pricing page in October 2026 with both billing toggles and several user counts, before sales tax. Trial and cancellation rules come from Tella's help center and pricing FAQ.

Tella plans and what each one costs

Three tiers, all priced per user. Recording limits are the same on every paid plan, so you pay more for branding and analytics, not for more minutes.

Pro

$13

per user a month billed yearly, $26 monthly

  • Unlimited videos, clips up to 6 hours each
  • Screen, webcam, mic and system audio, up to 4K
  • Transcript editing in 106 languages, filler and silence removal
  • 4K export, embeds, comments, call to action buttons
  • Team playlists and view analytics

Internal demos, async updates, tutorials.

Premium

$19

per user a month billed yearly, $39 monthly

  • Everything in Pro
  • Custom domain for video pages
  • Domain restriction on embedded videos
  • Tella branding removed, 60 fps export
  • Advanced analytics and priority support

Videos that customers and prospects see.

Enterprise

Quote

custom pricing from sales

  • Everything in Premium
  • SSO and SCIM included
  • Shared Slack channel, personal onboarding
  • Volume discounts

IT-managed rollouts across departments.

SSO and SCIM are also sold as add-ons on Pro and Premium, according to the pricing FAQ, so a security requirement alone does not force an Enterprise contract.

Tella cost per year for a team

The pricing page multiplies straight through: 5 Pro users on yearly billing show as $65 a month, 25 as $325, 100 as $1,300. There is no per-seat discount on self-serve plans, so the yearly bill is users times list price.

Users Pro, yearly Pro, monthly x 12 Premium, yearly Premium, monthly x 12
1$156$312$228$468
3$468$936$684$1,404
5$780$1,560$1,140$2,340
10$1,560$3,120$2,280$4,680
25$3,900$7,800$5,700$11,700

Monthly passes yearly at month seven

Six months of Pro on monthly billing cost $156, exactly one year on yearly billing. From month seven on, monthly is the more expensive choice, so it only suits a project you know will end within half a year.

Only people who record need a seat

Viewers watch through a link or embed and never need a login. A sales team of 12 where 4 reps actually record pays for 4 seats, not 12, which is the first number to check before you sign.

Pro or Premium, decided by who watches

Tella's own FAQ puts it simply: if you share lots of videos with users, customers or followers, Premium fits; otherwise Pro is enough. The $6 a month gap per user on yearly billing buys four things that only matter when someone outside the company is watching.

  • Your own domain on the video page, so a prospect sees your brand in the address bar.
  • Tella branding removed from the player and page.
  • Domain restriction, so a paid course or onboarding video only plays where you embedded it.
  • Advanced analytics on viewers, traffic sources and locations, plus 60 fps export.

A practical split many teams land on: Premium seats for the two or three people who record customer-facing demos and onboarding, Pro for everyone recording internal updates.

Yearly list price for one person on the plan a business would buy, from each vendor's pricing page. Tella sits in the middle on price and near the top on editing, because transcript editing and auto layouts are in the base plan.

The scene Tella cannot record

Tella is excellent at what is on a screen and in front of a webcam. The opening of a good demo or onboarding video is often neither: a nurse checking a tablet on a ward, a delivery van pulling up, a shop owner closing out the day. Nobody films those for a product walkthrough, so the video starts cold on a dashboard.

Describe the scene, or upload a product photo, and VideoMake renders a 4, 8 or 12 second clip in 16:9 or 9:16. Add the MP4 to the Tella timeline as an extra clip ahead of your recording. For cutaways inside longer tutorials, see the AI b-roll generator.

Questions people ask about Tella pricing

How much does Tella cost?

+

Tella Pro costs $13 per user a month billed yearly ($156 a year) or $26 billed monthly. Premium costs $19 per user a month billed yearly ($228 a year) or $39 monthly. Enterprise is a custom quote with SSO, SCIM, a shared Slack channel and volume discounts. Prices are in US dollars before sales tax.

Is Tella free?

+

No. Tella's help center says it is a paid product with no forever free plan. Every new account gets a 7 day trial of Pro with no credit card, and the workspace owner can extend it once. When the trial ends your videos stay viewable, but recording, editing and exporting lock until you subscribe.

What is the difference between Tella Pro and Premium?

+

Pro covers recording, transcript editing, 4K export, team playlists and basic analytics. Premium adds a custom domain, domain restriction for embeds, removal of Tella branding, 60 fps export and advanced analytics. Tella's own advice is that Premium fits people who share many videos with customers or followers.

Is Tella cheaper than Loom?

+

On yearly billing, yes. Tella Pro is $156 per user a year, while Loom Business is $18 per user monthly, roughly $180 a year with Loom's yearly discount, and Business plus AI is higher still. On monthly billing Tella Pro at $26 costs more than Loom Business at $18.

How long is the Tella free trial?

+

Seven days on the Pro plan, starting the moment the account is created rather than at your first recording. No card is needed and the trial ends by itself. The workspace owner can extend it once: an active trial gets 7 more days and an expired one restarts as a fresh 7 day trial.

Does Tella offer an education or nonprofit discount?

+

Yes. Tella runs a Tella for Education program and a Tella for Good program for nonprofits, both linked from the pricing FAQ. The discount size is not published on the pricing page, so apply through those programs and compare the quote with the $156 yearly Pro price before committing.

Can I cancel Tella at any time?

+

Yes. Tella's pricing FAQ says the subscription stops at the end of the current billing period and you are not charged for the next one. On yearly billing that means you keep access until the year ends, so the yearly discount only pays off if you will record for more than six months.

Is Tella worth it for a team?

+

For sales, success and product teams that send polished screen recordings every week, $156 a user a year is fair: unlimited videos, 6 hour clips, transcript editing and 4K are all in Pro. It is a weaker buy if you only need quick unedited clips, or if customers must see your brand only, which needs Premium.
