ScreenPal costs $4 a month on Solo Deluxe and $10 a month on Solo Max, both paid annually, so $48 and $120 a year for one person. Team Business is $8 per user a month, paid annually, with a 3 seat minimum, which makes the smallest team bill $288 a year. Enterprise site licenses are quoted. There is also a free plan, capped at 15 minute recordings and 10 hosted videos.

The prices below come from ScreenPal's plans page and its team plans page, in US dollars before tax, checked in October 2026. ScreenPal was called Screencast-O-Matic until the rebrand, so older reviews and invoices may still use that name.

How much does ScreenPal cost for a team?

The odd thing about ScreenPal pricing is that the team plan is cheaper per seat than the top solo plan. Team Business at $8 per user a month includes every Max feature, while Solo Max is $10. The catch is the 3 seat minimum. Here is what that means in practice:

People recordingCheapest way to give everyone Max featuresPer year
1Solo Max$120
2Two Solo Max plans$240
3Team Business, 3 seats$288
5Team Business, 5 seats$480
10Team Business, 10 seats$960
25Team Business, 25 seats, or ask for a site license quote$2,400

Two people are better off on two solo plans. From three people up, Team Business wins on price and also gives an admin one place to manage seats, transfer a leaver's videos and switch on single sign-on, which separate solo accounts cannot do. Only people who create videos need a seat. Viewers watch through a link, an embed or your LMS.

Is ScreenPal free?

Yes, there is a free forever plan, but it is built for trying the tool, not for work. Each recording stops at 15 minutes, the account holds only 10 hosted videos, playback is limited to 720p and the stock library is down to 50 music tracks. For anyone recording weekly training or support videos, the 10 video hosting cap is the limit you hit first, and Deluxe at $48 a year removes it.

ScreenPal Deluxe vs Max, which one to buy

Buy Deluxe if you record tutorials, edit them yourself and add captions. At $48 a year it is one of the cheapest full screen recorders with a real editor, multi-track audio and unlimited hosting, and it already includes automated speech-to-text captions.

Buy Max if any of these apply:

  • You want AI to write titles, summaries and quiz questions, translate transcripts, or edit by deleting words in the transcript.
  • You narrate with text-to-speech instead of your own voice.
  • You need the premium stock library (2.8 million images and videos and 92,000 premium music tracks) or 4K playback.
  • Your videos carry unlimited quizzes and polls for training.

The $72 a year gap is easy to justify for anyone producing training content weekly. For an occasional how-to clip, Deluxe is enough.

What the ScreenPal AI video generator actually makes

Max and Team Business include an AI video generator, and it is worth knowing what it is before you buy for it. You type an idea, ScreenPal writes a script, then assembles a video from stock footage matched to the script with an AI voiceover, captions and chapters. It is a fast way to build an explainer from library clips. It does not render new footage of a specific scene or product. If a tutorial needs a shot no stock library has, such as your product on a warehouse shelf or a scene from your customer's industry, a generator like the AI b-roll generator renders a new 4 to 12 second clip from a prompt or product photo that you can drop into the ScreenPal editor.

ScreenPal for training, support and sales teams

Training teams buy ScreenPal for quizzes, polls and the LTI 1.3 app that connects it to a learning management system on Team Business. Support teams use the screenshot tools, scrolling capture and sequential step markers to answer tickets with a 30 second video instead of a paragraph. Sales reps record quick personal walkthroughs and paste the link into outreach, often alongside cold email software that researches each prospect and writes the sequence, so the video lands in an email that already reads as personal.

It runs on Windows, Mac, Chromebook, iOS and Android, which matters for mixed fleets where a Mac-only recorder would leave half the team out.

Tool and planPer user per yearFree planBest at
ScreenPal Solo Deluxe$48Yes, 10 videosCheapest full editor with hosting and captions
ScreenPal Team Business$96, 3 seat minimumYesTraining teams that need quizzes, SSO and LMS
Screencastify Pro$120Yes, 10 videosBrowser recording for schools, 5 member cap

Loom Businessabout $180Yes, 25 videosAsync walkthroughs inside the Atlassian stack
Camtasia Essentials$179.88NoLong training videos in a desktop multitrack editor

On list price ScreenPal is the cheapest serious option in this group. What you give up against Tella or Loom is polish and viewer insight on customer-facing pages. What you give up against Camtasia is a heavier desktop editor for long productions. For screenshot-heavy documentation work, Snagit pricing is the other number to check.

Questions people ask about ScreenPal pricing

How much does ScreenPal cost?

ScreenPal Solo Deluxe costs $4 a month and Solo Max $10 a month, both paid annually, which is $48 and $120 a year. Team Business costs $8 per user a month paid annually for 3 or more users. Enterprise site licenses are priced on request, and there is a free plan with 15 minute recordings and 10 hosted videos.

Is ScreenPal the same as Screencast-O-Matic?

Yes. Screencast-O-Matic renamed itself ScreenPal, and the recorder, editor and hosting carried over under the new name. Existing accounts and videos moved with it. That is why some review sites and old invoices still show Screencast-O-Matic pricing, which no longer matches the current Deluxe, Max and Team Business plans.

Does ScreenPal have a monthly plan?

The current plans page lists every paid plan as paid annually, at $4, $10 and $8 per user a month. It does not show a month-to-month price. Teams that need monthly billing, a purchase order or an invoice should use the online quote form on the team plans page before buying.

What is the ScreenPal recording limit?

The free plan limits each recording to 15 minutes and the account to 10 hosted videos. Every paid plan, from Solo Deluxe at $48 a year upward, removes both limits: recording time and the number of videos you can record and host are unlimited.

Is ScreenPal worth it for business?

For training, support and internal communication teams on a tight budget, yes. Team Business gives every Max feature, SSO and LMS integration for $96 per user a year, less than most rivals. It is a weaker fit for customer-facing sales videos that need a custom domain and detailed viewer analytics.
