The short answer
D-ID Studio costs $4.70 a month for Lite, $16 for Pro and $108 for Advanced when billed annually, which is $56, $191 and $1,293 a year. Those tiers include 10, 15 and 100 minutes of video a month. The API is sold separately at $14.40, $35 and $138.60 a month billed annually for 16, 45 and 200 minutes. A commercial use license starts at Pro on Studio and at Launch on the API, so the two cheapest paid plans are personal use only.

D-ID Studio plans and prices
Studio is the browser app where you pick an avatar, paste a script and render. Four public tiers. What separates them is monthly minutes, how many personal avatars and voice clones you get, and what appears in the corner of the finished file.
| Plan | Per month, billed annually | Annual total | Video minutes a month | Credits | License |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Trial | $0 | 14 days | 3 minutes in total | n/a | Personal use |
| Lite | $4.70 | $56 | 10 | 40 | Personal use |
| Pro | $16 | $191 | 15 | 60 | Commercial use |
| Advanced | $108 | $1,293 | 100 | 400 | Commercial use |
| Enterprise | Quoted | Quoted | Unlimited, per contract | Custom | Commercial use |
D-ID shows Lite as 20 percent off and Pro and Advanced as 45 percent off for paying yearly. Run that backwards and month to month billing lands near $5.83, $29 and $196. Each tier also offers larger credit bundles at a higher price inside the same plan.
D-ID API pricing
The API is priced on its own page and on its own tiers, for teams generating video from their own product rather than clicking through Studio. Each tier lists two allowances: rendered video minutes and streaming minutes for live agents.
| Plan | Per month, billed annually | Annual total | Video minutes | Streaming minutes | License |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Trial | $0 | 14 days | Up to 3 | Up to 10 | Personal use |
| Build | $14.40 | $172.80 | Up to 16 | Up to 32 | Personal use |
| Launch | $35 | $420 | Up to 45 | Up to 90 | Commercial use |
| Scale | $138.60 | $1,663.20 | Up to 200 | Up to 400 | Commercial use |
| Enterprise | Quoted | Quoted | Custom | Custom | Commercial use |
Build is shown at 20 percent off for annual billing, Launch and Scale at 30 percent, which puts month to month billing near $18, $50 and $198. Build, Launch and Scale all let you store output in your own S3 bucket.
What a finished D-ID minute actually costs
Plan prices are easy to compare. Cost per minute is the number that tells you whether moving up a tier is a discount or just more room, and D-ID does not publish it. Here it is, calculated from the annual price and the monthly allowance on each plan.
| Plan | Monthly cost on annual billing | Minutes included | Cost per finished minute | Usable in a business |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Studio Lite | $4.67 | 10 | $0.47 | No, personal use and a D-ID watermark |
| Studio Pro | $15.92 | 15 | $1.06 | Yes |
| Studio Advanced | $107.75 | 100 | $1.08 | Yes, with your own logo |
| API Build | $14.40 | 16 | $0.90 | No, personal use |
| API Launch | $35.00 | 45 | $0.78 | Yes |
| API Scale | $138.60 | 200 | $0.69 | Yes, with your own logo |
Two things fall out of that table. First, Studio Advanced is not a volume discount. At $1.08 a minute it is fractionally more expensive per minute than Pro at $1.06, so the seven fold jump in price buys headroom, five personal avatars, three voice clones and your own logo, not a better rate. If you are moving up purely because you ran out of minutes, check that you will genuinely use most of the 100.
Second, the API is the cheaper way to buy commercial D-ID video. Launch renders a commercially licensed minute for about $0.78 against $1.06 in Studio, and Scale brings that to $0.69. Teams that can call an endpoint instead of clicking through the browser app pay roughly a third less for the same output.
Four rules that make the D-ID bill bigger than the plan price
Every clip is rounded up to 15 seconds
D-ID states on its pricing page that video duration is rounded up to the nearest 15 second interval. A 20 second product intro bills as 30 seconds. If your use case is lots of short personalized clips, assume you lose a third of your allowance to rounding and size the plan accordingly.
Minutes expire every month
Minutes renew monthly and do not carry over, per D-ID. A quiet August does not fund a busy September. Buy for a normal month and top up in the heavy ones rather than parking on a tier you only need twice a year.
Studio and the API share one balance
D-ID confirms that Studio and API draw on the same pool of minutes. If your marketing team is rendering in the browser while an integration is calling the API, they are spending the same allowance, and the first sign is usually a failed render at month end.
The commercial license starts two tiers up
Trial, Lite and Build are listed as personal use. Publishing a Lite render in an ad, on a product page or in a sales sequence is outside the license you bought, on top of carrying a D-ID watermark. The realistic business entry point is Studio Pro at $191 a year or API Launch at $420.
Which D-ID plan to buy
Studio Pro, $191 a year
One marketer making presenter clips
Fifteen minutes a month covers roughly thirty 30 second spokesperson videos once rounding is counted. You get the commercial license, premium voices and one voice clone. This is the tier most small teams should start on, not Lite.
API Launch, $420 a year
Personalized video inside your product
Forty five rendered minutes and ninety streaming minutes, commercially licensed, at the cheapest per minute rate on the public tiers. Pick this if a name or an account number has to change in every video and a human is not going to click render each time.
Studio Advanced, $1,293 a year
A content team shipping weekly
One hundred minutes a month, five personal avatars, three voice clones and your logo in place of the D-ID mark. Worth it only if you will genuinely use most of those minutes, because the rate per minute does not improve over Pro.
D-ID pricing next to a scene clip generator
A good share of people pricing D-ID are not actually shopping for a talking head. They searched for an AI video generator, landed on an avatar platform and started comparing plans. These are two different purchases, so here is the honest split.
| D-ID | VideoMake | |
|---|---|---|
| What it makes | A photo or avatar speaking a script, plus live streaming agents | Generated scene clips from a text prompt or a still image |
| A person on screen | Always, that is the product | No presenter, no lip sync, no script reading |
| A product, a room, a location | No | Yes, that is the product |
| Voice, voice cloning, translation | Yes, on Pro and above | No |
| Public API | Yes, priced on its own tiers | No, browser app only |
| Clip length | As long as the script, billed in 15 second blocks | 4, 8 or 12 seconds |
| Business entry price | $191 a year, Studio Pro | $288 a year on annual Plus, or $49 a month |
| How output is metered | Minutes, rounded up to 15 seconds, no rollover | 1 credit per second of 720p, 50 credits a month on Plus |
| Watermark | On every tier, replaceable with your logo on Advanced | None |
| Best for | Spokesperson video, personalized outreach, support agents | Product shots, b-roll, ad openers, vertical social clips |
If the brief is a face delivering words, buy D-ID and use the tables above to pick the tier. Nothing here competes with that, and pretending otherwise would waste your afternoon. D-ID also has something we do not: a documented API, which is the whole reason it wins personalized video at volume.
If the brief is an eight second shot of a warehouse, a coffee cup on a desk or a vertical opener for a paid social ad, an avatar platform cannot render it at any price, because there is no person in the frame to animate. That is the case a clip generator handles. Our AI b-roll generator and image to video generator show the output to expect, and plenty of teams run both: the avatar reads the script, generated clips fill the cutaways behind it.
Questions people ask about D-ID pricing
How much does D-ID cost per month?
On annual billing D-ID Studio costs $4.70 a month for Lite ($56 a year), $16 for Pro ($191 a year) and $108 for Advanced ($1,293 a year). D-ID shows those as 20 percent off on Lite and 45 percent off on Pro and Advanced, so paying month to month works out at roughly $5.83, $29 and $196.
Is D-ID free?
No. D-ID offers a 14 day free trial that includes about 3 minutes of video, and every trial render carries a full screen watermark. There is no permanent free plan. To remove the full screen watermark and keep making videos you need a paid tier, starting at Lite.
How much is D-ID per minute?
On annual billing Studio Pro works out to about $1.06 per finished minute ($191 a year for 15 minutes a month) and Advanced to about $1.08 ($1,293 a year for 100 minutes a month). The API is cheaper: Launch is about $0.78 a minute and Scale about $0.69. Advanced buys headroom, not a better rate.
Do D-ID minutes roll over?
No. D-ID states on its pricing page that minutes renew monthly and do not carry over, and that Studio and the API draw on the same minute balance. Anything you do not use is gone at the end of the billing month, so size the plan to a normal month rather than to your busiest one.
Which D-ID plan includes a commercial license?
Studio Pro at $16 a month billed annually is the first Studio tier with a commercial use license, and Launch at $35 a month is the first API tier. Trial, Lite and Build are listed as personal use, so a business publishing D-ID video on the cheapest paid plan is on the wrong tier.
What are D-ID credits?
Credits are the second meter next to video minutes, and they pay for avatar generations, agents and other studio actions. Lite lists 40 credits a month, Pro 60 and Advanced 400, with higher credit bundles available inside each tier. AI prompted avatar generations run 50 on Lite, 100 on Pro and 600 on Advanced.
Does D-ID put a watermark on videos?
Yes, on every tier, but not the same one. The trial adds a full screen watermark, Lite and Build add a D-ID watermark, Pro and Launch carry an AI watermark that discloses the video is synthetic, and Advanced, Scale and Enterprise let you replace it with your own logo.
Is D-ID worth the money?
It is if you need a photo or avatar to speak a script, especially through the API for personalized outreach at volume, where $0.78 a commercial minute is competitive. It is the wrong purchase if your videos have no presenter in them, because D-ID animates a face and does not render a product, a location or a scene.
No presenter in your video? Generate the shot instead.
Type the scene or upload a product photo and get a 4, 8 or 12 second clip back in 16:9 or 9:16, cleared for commercial use, with no watermark and a fixed monthly price.
