The short answer
Vyond is sold per seat and priced for annual billing. Starter is $699 a year for a single user, Professional is $1,199 per user a year, Enterprise is $1,649 per user a year and Agency is $1,999 per user a year. There is a free trial but no free plan. A five person training team on Professional lists at $5,995 a year, and the monthly download cap (100 on Starter, 200 on Professional) is the limit most teams hit first.

Vyond's pricing page defaults to annual billing and also shows a monthly toggle for the self-serve plans, which costs more per month. US public sector buyers are routed to a separate FedRAMP offering, Vyond for Government.
What a Vyond team really costs per year
Vyond quotes a price per user, but the budget line you defend is annual and covers everyone who needs to edit. These are list prices multiplied out. Negotiated multi-seat deals usually land lower, so treat this as the ceiling.

Where the Vyond bill ends up higher than the first quote
Starter looks like the obvious entry point at $699, and for a single instructional designer it often is. The catch is the phrase "single user plan". The day a reviewer, a subject matter expert or a second designer needs to open the project, Starter stops working and every editor moves to Professional at $1,199. A pilot bought on one Starter seat tends to renew as three Professional seats.
The second trigger is the download cap. A team refreshing a compliance library or localizing onboarding into several languages burns through 200 downloads a month faster than expected, because every language version and every revision is its own export. When downloads run out mid-quarter, the fix Vyond offers is Enterprise, where downloads are virtually unlimited.
The third is AI usage. Avatars, AI voices, translation and prompt-to-video all draw on the monthly credit pool, and the pool resets each month. Teams leaning on AI avatars for weekly updates are the ones who end up talking to sales.
Questions to settle before you sign
- How many people need edit access, not just view access, in year one and year two?
- How many finished exports a month, counting every language and every revision?
- Does IT require SSO or a security review? That points to Enterprise from the start.
- Will you make videos for clients? That is what the Agency plan is licensed for.
- What discount does a multi-year or multi-seat commitment get? List price is the opening number.

A solo instructional designer, trainer or consultant who builds animated explainers alone and shares finished files for feedback. Stay here as long as nobody else needs to log in and you download fewer than 100 videos a month.

Small L&D or comms team
Two to five editors sharing projects, translating content and pulling stock assets. This is where most corporate teams land. Model your download count before signing, because 200 a month per user is the ceiling you will feel.
Enterprise, $1,649 per seat
Brand control, security, volume
Larger organizations where brand governance and IT security review are requirements, or where exports run into hundreds a month. Get a multi-seat quote rather than paying list, and ask what the Agency tier would cost if any output goes to clients.

It is for L&D, HR and internal comms teams producing animated explainers, training modules and policy videos every month, because one seat can replace agency briefs. It is poor value if you need a handful of realistic product or scene clips, since you pay a full annual seat for an animation studio you barely use.
