Colossyan Pricing: Colossyan Cost per Plan, per Editor and per Finished Minute

Colossyan pricing starts with a free Starter plan and moves to Professional at $59 a month on annual billing, which includes 30 minutes a month of standard NEO avatar video and 10 minutes of the newer NEO2 model. Each extra editor costs $30 a month, up to three. Enterprise is a custom quote and is the only tier with unlimited minutes, unlimited SCORM export, SSO and US or EU data residency.

Those numbers come straight from colossyan.com/pricing, checked in September 2026. What the plan page does not do is tell you what a finished training minute costs, or what a three person L&D team pays for a year. That math is below, along with the rules on rollover, drafts and add-on minutes that decide whether a plan actually fits.

Colossyan pricing: every plan side by side

Starter and Professional export at up to 1080p, and Starter videos carry a Colossyan watermark. Enterprise goes up to 4K. The yearly toggle on the pricing page advertises 34% off against monthly billing, so paying month to month for Professional costs noticeably more than $59. Colossyan also lists Starter with a crossed-out "$27/mo" value, which is marketing framing rather than a price anyone pays.

How much does Colossyan cost per year?

A single Professional seat on annual billing is $708 a year. Two editors come to $1,068 a year and three editors, the Professional maximum, come to $1,428 a year. A fourth editor forces a move to Enterprise, which is quoted by sales, so any team that expects to grow past three people should get an Enterprise number before signing a Professional contract.

What a finished minute of Colossyan video really costs

Colossyan meters avatar video in generated minutes, and there are two separate buckets. NEO is the standard avatar model. NEO2 is the newer, more realistic generation and gets a much smaller allowance. Annual subscribers receive the whole year's minutes upfront, so Professional delivers 360 NEO minutes and 120 NEO2 minutes over the year.

• If you only use NEO: $708 across 360 minutes is about $1.97 per finished minute.
• If you only use NEO2: $708 across 120 minutes is about $5.90 per finished minute.
• If you use both allowances fully: $708 across 480 minutes is about $1.48 per finished minute, the best case.
• Add-on NEO2 packs: 600 extra NEO2 minutes cost $1,500 a year, which is $2.50 per minute, and are sold only on the Professional yearly plan through sales.

Those are ceilings on efficiency. Real cost per usable minute is higher, because a generated video counts against the allowance even if you later find a typo and regenerate it. Colossyan's FAQ is explicit that deleting a generated video does not return the minutes. Drafts, on the other hand, are free: only the final generation is counted. The practical habit that saves money is to review the script and scene order in draft, preview voice pronunciation with the pronunciation library, and generate once.

Does Colossyan have a free plan?

Yes. Starter is a permanent $0 plan with 20 NEO minutes a month, half a minute of NEO2, 15 custom avatars, 3 cloned voices, 10 interactive videos and 15 auto translations a month. It exports with a Colossyan watermark and has no SCORM export, so it works for testing scripts and avatars but not for publishing training into an LMS. New accounts also get a 14 day trial of the editor without a credit card.

What is the difference between Colossyan Starter and Professional?

Professional removes the watermark and adds what a training team needs to ship: 5 SCORM exports a month, AI image generation, commenting, draft and video sharing, and up to 3 editors. It raises the allowance to 30 NEO and 10 NEO2 minutes a month, custom avatars from 15 to 20, cloned voices from 3 to 5, and the per-video length limit from 20 minutes to 30 on monthly or 50 on yearly billing. It also includes 360 minutes a year of API access.

How much does Colossyan Enterprise cost?

Colossyan does not publish an Enterprise price. You get it from a sales call, and every Enterprise contract is billed annually. What the plan includes is public: unlimited NEO minutes, custom NEO2 allowances, unlimited SCORM in streaming and self-contained formats, 4K export, SSO and SAML, team permissions, video analytics, EU or US data residency, 24/7 priority support, a dedicated customer success manager, conversational avatars and one included custom studio avatar. Enterprise buyers can also request Colossyan's SOC 2 Type II report and DPA.

Budget for extras on top. A professionally filmed studio custom avatar is a $1,000 a year add-on, and extra NEO2 capacity is sold in packs.

Rules that change your Colossyan bill

• Unused minutes do not roll over at the end of a billing period. On monthly billing that means use them or lose them every month.
• Annual plans front-load the whole year's minutes, so a team with a big launch in one quarter can spend most of the allowance at once.
• Annual plans are not refunded for unused months if you cancel. Access continues until the period ends.
• You can pause for up to 2 months free of charge through support chat, useful between course production cycles.
• Every language version is a generated video, so a 10 minute course localized into Spanish and French uses 30 minutes of allowance, not 10.

That last rule is the one that blows up training budgets. If you publish compliance content in three languages, divide the per-minute figures above by three before comparing Colossyan with a single-language vendor.

Is Colossyan worth the money?

Colossyan is worth it for a US L&D, onboarding or compliance team that publishes presenter-led courses into an LMS, needs SCORM and interactive quizzes, and localizes content. Professional at $708 a year is one of the lower entry prices in the avatar category for a plan with SCORM export included. Video is usually only half the course. Most training teams also need a knowledge check at the end, and if your LMS quizzes are weak you can build and auto-grade the assessment separately and attach it next to the SCORM package.

It is poor value when the video you need has no presenter in it. Colossyan's minutes are priced around avatars reading scripts. If the brief is a realistic product shot, a warehouse walkthrough cutaway or a vertical clip for a social ad, you would be paying for an avatar studio to produce footage it is not built for.
